Kamagra Oral Jelly ( Sildenafil Citrate )
Kamagra Oral Jelly (sildenafil citrate) is a non‑approved, illegally distributed product that contains the same active ingredient as the prescription medicine Viagra. Sildenafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men. It works by enhancing the effects of nitric oxide released during sexual stimulation, which increases cGMP levels in the corpus cavernosum, leading to smooth muscle relaxation, vasodilation, and increased penile blood flow. Kamagra Oral Jelly is not authorized for sale by Health Canada and its safety, quality, and efficacy have not been assessed. It is commonly encountered online in single‑dose sachets and poses serious health risks due to unknown manufacturing conditions, potential contamination, and possible inclusion of undisclosed or incorrect active ingredients.
Usual adult dose: In a legitimate prescription setting, the usual starting dose of sildenafil for erectile dysfunction is 50 mg taken as needed, approximately 1 hour before sexual activity. The dose may be increased to a maximum of 100 mg or decreased to 25 mg based on effectiveness and tolerability. The maximum recommended frequency is once daily. Kamagra Oral Jelly is typically found in 100 mg sachets. Taking 100 mg as an initial dose without medical supervision sharply increases the risk of side effects and drug interactions. The jelly formulation should not be consumed more than once per 24‑hour period. A high‑fat meal may delay the onset of action, and alcohol should be limited.
Dosage form: Oral jelly in single‑use sachets containing 100 mg of sildenafil citrate per sachet. The product is often flavoured and presented as a thick liquid or gel. This formulation is not approved in Canada and its content cannot be verified.
Onset of action: When taken on an empty stomach, the onset of effect is typically within 30 to 60 minutes. Food, especially a high‑fat meal, can delay and reduce absorption.
Duration of action: The therapeutic effect lasts for up to 4 hours; an erection lasting longer than 4 hours (priapism) is a medical emergency. The elimination half‑life of sildenafil is about 3 to 4 hours.
Alcohol recommendation: Alcohol should be limited or avoided during treatment. Alcohol acts as a vasodilator and can intensify the blood‑pressure‑lowering effects of sildenafil, increasing the risk of dizziness, headache, fainting, and orthostatic hypotension. Excessive drinking can also impair the ability to achieve an erection.
Most common side effects: Headache, facial flushing, nasal congestion, dyspepsia, dizziness, and visual disturbances (bluish tinge to vision, increased sensitivity to light, blurred vision). These effects are generally dose‑dependent and transient but can be more severe at the 100 mg dose. Sildenafil is absolutely contraindicated in patients taking any form of nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide mononitrate) because the combined vasodilatory effect can cause life‑threatening hypotension. It should not be used in patients with severe cardiovascular disease, recent stroke or myocardial infarction, severe hepatic impairment, or retinitis pigmentosa. Priapism is a rare but serious adverse event requiring immediate medical attention. Sudden vision or hearing loss has been reported with PDE5 inhibitors. Because Kamagra Oral Jelly is an illicit product, there is an additional risk of toxic adulterants, incorrect dosing, and lack of sterility, which may cause infection or unpredictable systemic reactions. Anyone considering sildenafil therapy should obtain a legitimate prescription through a licensed Canadian healthcare professional and fill it at a regulated pharmacy.
